A life spent caring for people in their most vulnerable moments

My journey into paramedical tattooing didn’t begin with ink—it began with my sister, Sarah, sharing her vision of a craft that could return people to themselves, a quiet, steady art that restores presence, dignity, and the feeling of being at home in one’s own skin.

As a Navy Hospital Corpsman and Emergency Medical Technician, I learned what it meant to care for someone in their most vulnerable moments. I learned to listen before acting, to honor the story behind every scar, and to treat each person with the dignity they deserve. Those years shaped the way I see the human body: not as a collection of symptoms, but as a living record of everything someone has survived.

Later, as a teacher and advocate, I carried that same commitment into classrooms, families, and courtrooms. I became a steady presence for people moving through trauma, transition, and rebuilding. I learned that healing is never just physical — it’s emotional, relational, and deeply personal.

Those experiences became the foundation for everything I do now.

About Sarah Vogel

My path into paramedical tattooing is deeply personal.

What started as a conversation in our family turned into something that changed the direction of my career — and honestly, my heart. When this field was first brought to my attention, I saw more than a skill. I saw a way to help people heal in a way that goes beyond the surface.

Learning about how restorative tattooing can help people after surgery, trauma, scarring, or medical treatments opened my eyes to how powerful this work truly is. With a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy, I’ve spent years caring for people in some of their most vulnerable moments, and that clinical foundation helped me recognize the depth of what this work can offer — not just physically, but emotionally.

It’s not just about pigment — it’s about giving someone a piece of themselves back. Confidence. Wholeness. Closure.

What makes this journey even more meaningful is that it didn’t start alone. This was something that I shared with my sister, Brenda, and that foundation matters to me. Support, encouragement, and the belief that I could step into something so impactful gave me the push to pursue this path seriously. This work is part of my profession — but it’s also part of my story.

Now, every client I work with reminds me why I chose this. Helping someone feel comfortable in their own skin again is an honor I never take lightly.

Where Medicine, Art, and Trauma-Informed Care Meet

Over time, I saw a pattern: people weren’t just recovering from trauma or surgery — they were trying to reconnect with themselves afterward. They were trying to feel at home in their skin again. They were trying to recognize the person in the mirror.

I watched people shrink from their reflection, hide parts of their body, or feel defined by marks they never chose. And I knew there had to be a way to help them reclaim what was taken.

Paramedical tattooing became that way.

It allowed me to merge my medical background with artistry, precision, and trauma-informed care. It gave me a way to restore color where it was lost, soften scars that carried heavy memories, refine texture, and help people see themselves clearly again — sometimes for the first time in years.

This work isn’t cosmetic to me.

It’s restorative.

It’s identity-affirming.

It’s deeply human.

Why I Built EIR Collective

EIR Collective is the culmination of everything I’ve learned across medicine, advocacy, and healing spaces. I created it as a sanctuary — a place where people can move at their own pace, make informed choices, and feel seen without judgment.

I believe your body holds the story, but you hold the meaning. My role is simply to help you reclaim the parts of yourself that deserve to feel whole again.

My Philosophy

This work is my way of offering that truth back to the world.

Trauma is part of the story — but it doesn’t define you.

Trauma is part of the story — but it doesn’t define you.

Trauma is part of the story — but it doesn’t define you.

Your reflection should feel like yours.

Your reflection should feel like yours.

Your reflection should feel like yours.

Healing is collaborative, not prescriptive.
